The Fountain Court flats development has been a great success, and has provided the right level of independence for core members Maxine, Bobby and Linda, with support near by when needed.

Core members have now been living in Fountain Court since July 2009 and Bobby is enjoying his new home and has little parties every now and then in his flat, serving the ladies with non-alcoholic wine and giving us all blessings.

Max says she felt sad and lonely when Bob and Linda were away on retreat and was pleased when they returned Linda enjoys having guests over and watching Dirty Dancing together three times in a row!

 

Three New Housing Projects

L’Arche Liverpool have three very exciting houses projects under development. One St Cecilia's, two 12 Holly Road and three10 Holly Road.  This will provide much needed accessible accommodation for people with learning disabilities in the city. Some of the people who already live in a L’Arche house will be moving into the new flats, and we will also be able to welcome some new people into the new flats and to become part of our Community.

St Cecilia’s Project – near to St Cecilia’s Church, Green Lane is due to open in Autumn 2012

This is a project of 2 purpose built dormer bungalows. Each bungalow has 3 en-suite bedrooms for people with disabilities, and 2 bedrooms for live in assistants.

12 Holly Road

12 Holly Road, L7 is a refurbished Grade II listed building and is due to open in May 2012

This lovely building is being converted into 4 one bedroom flats, and 2 three bedroom flats for people with disabilities. This will allow people to have accessible accommodation with more personal space and independence whilst still providing a network of support to the individual. The building will also include a 4 bedroom flat in the attic for live in assistants

10 Holly Road

10 Holly Road, L7 is due to open in Winter 2012

This project is a mix of refurbished and purpose built accommodation and will provide 3 one bedroom flats, and a three bedroom flat for people with disabilities. There will also be a 4 bedroom flat for live in assistants. The site includes a large garden which will be a great space for people to relax in!
